This role involves working closely with clients to uncover the root causes of their eating disorders and developing personalized nutrition plans. Responsibilities include conducting functional lab tests, collaborating with therapists, and providing educational support to clients.
Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for a Certified Nutritionist or Registered Dietitian at NeoGenesis Nutrition, Inc. in University Place, WA. The role includes conducting nutritional assessments, implementing medical nutrition therapy, and supporting patients with weight management goals.
Functional Nutritionist (RDN or CN/CNS) to work with clients through the functional nutrition model
Are you someone who likes to do things differently and finds yourself thinking outside the box?
Are you someone who works well with all ages?
Are you a self-starter who works well with minimal supervision?
Are you comfortable working within a team?
Then you may be who I am looking for!
NeoGenesis Nutrition, Inc. is a functional medicine/integrative nutrition clinic based in University Place, WA, just outside of Tacoma. We are looking for someone to join our team!
As a functional nutritionist, you would approach your protocols and treatment of the eating disorder/disordered eating population through the lens of root-cause investigation. While mainstream treatment focuses on an “all foods fit” model, we will help our clients determine what is causing the eating discomfort while we work on the relationship with food. For some individuals with an eating disorder, it started because of digestive complaints, nutrient deficiencies, and trauma. (Don’t worry! We have therapists we work with!) We will emphasize what we add and use education to help the client overcome fears and concerns. With functional lab testing, we can help the client determine the best direction to take in his or her recovery. Our approach is client-centered from the moment we book the appointment, and our clinic is driven by human connection, which is lacking in our modern society.
This in-person position will start part-time and organically grow to full-time. The applicant must live near Tacoma/University Place, WA.
The clinic is open from 9 am-6 pm Monday-Thursday with Fridays and weekends off. (Who doesn’t love a 3-day weekend?) Your Monday-Thursday will start with availability two mornings and two afternoons to start and then grow from there.
Required Experience and Education
At least one year of experience working in a clinical setting is required for this position.
Master’s or Doctorate in nutrition
Certified Nutritionist or RDN (Washington state)
Certified Nutrition Specialist (Can be working on your hours and can work with Dr. Champion as your supervisor)
Ability to read and interpret scientific studies and translate it into practical guidance
Experience with functional labs such as GI testing through US Biotek, DUTCH, Mycotoxin, OAT, OMX, etc.
Preferred Education:
University of Western States degree
Coaching certification
